Pricing
An Appeon software subscription includes the following:
- A non-perpetual product license
- Upgrades, both major and minor
- Cloud-based license management system
- Standard technical support
No, taxes are not included in the listed prices and will be your responsibility to pay. If Appeon is required by law to collect and remit any taxes then you may see taxes applied when you complete your purchase.
10% volume discounts will be automatically applied if you purchase 10 or more subscriptions of the same product.
Yes and no. It depends on the project types your developers are working on. If everybody is working on the same project type the same subscription level will be required for all developers so they have access to necessary features. For example, if the entire team is working on Installable Cloud Apps then the PowerBuilder CloudPro would be required for the entire team.
No, our plans are all “grandfathered” – meaning you can renew a particular subscription that has not yet expired at the same price you previously paid. However, any additional developer seats that you may need in the future will be at the then-current price.
Only PowerServer has a runtime cost (i.e. you have purchased PowerBuilder CloudPro and want to deploy as an Installable Cloud App). Please refer to the PowerServer pricing page for information.
All other Appeon products do not have any runtime costs, and your cost is essentially a development cost that is usually based on the # of named developers. Most Appeon products are non-perpetual licenses, so there is an annual fee each year your developers work with such Appeon products.
It will depend on what you are distributing to your customers. If you are deploying a 2-tier or REST API-enabled PowerBuilder client/server app (i.e. no PowerServer) and what you are distributing to your customers is the app itself (not the IDE) then there are no distribution costs.
If you plan to develop Installable Cloud Apps with PowerServer then a production license of PowerServer will be required. You can find PowerServer production license pricing information here. Please contact our sales dept. so we can discuss OEM partner pricing and terms.
Purchasing
You can now generate a price quotation by yourself on the Appeon website at any time you please or contact the sales dept. with your quote number so our team can assist you.
We recommend you to place your order online. It gives you the option to pay by wire transfer, check and credit card, have your order processed faster, and simplify the future renewal process of your subscriptions (via enrolling in Appeon Auto-Renewal Program). However, if you wish to have your order processed offline, please contact us and we will be glad to take your order.
Yes. We strongly recommend you to enroll in Appeon Auto-Renewal Program during the checkout process to ensure uninterrupted access to the software. If for some reason you no longer wish to renew in the future you can easily cancel your enrollment.
Your subscription period begins as soon as your order is fulfilled.
If paying by credit card: Your order will be fulfilled instantly and you may immediately begin using the software.
If paying by bank wire transfer or check: Your order will be fulfilled typically within 2 business day of us receiving your payment; once fulfilled you will receive an email granting you access to use the software.
All orders, regardless of being placed online or offline, are fulfilled via electronic software download (ESD). We do not ship physical media.
Payment
Appeon accepts payment by Credit card (Visa/MasterCard), bank wire transfer or checks (must be denominated in US dollars).
The payment method specified in your first purchase will be saved for your future purchase. You can change your payment and/or billing contact in the Billing Information section of the Appeon website. And such change applies only to online purchases placed by you through the Appeon website (including online renewal purchases and the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program). To make billing changes for an offline purchase please contact the Appeon sales dept. To make billing changes for a purchase through an Appeon reseller please contact the applicable Appeon reseller.
If you have not accepted the terms of the Appeon Software License Agreement, you can request a full refund for the applicable license(s) within 30 days of your order by presenting Appeon with your invoice and proof of payment. Contact our sales dept. to initiate a refund request under this refund policy.
Yes, you will be notified via email if your credit card payment fails, and you will need to correct this issue before your subscriptions expire. If you are enrolled in the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program we will automatically attempt one more time to charge the credit card on the subscription expiration date. If you manually renew your subscription, please make another payment attempt in the User Center.
No. You will not receive notification that your credit card has expired. However, if you purchased a subscription directly from Appeon an email notification will be sent 45 days prior to the subscription expiration date reminding you to verify your credit card information. Please carefully verify that your credit card information is still valid.
Renewals
If you purchased a subscription license directly from Appeon you can renew your subscription in the User Center. In the User Center, you will have the option to renew your subscriptions either manually at any time before your subscription expires or enroll in the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program at least 30 days before the subscription expiration date.
If you purchased a subscription license through an Appeon reseller, please contact the applicable Appeon reseller to renew such subscription.
It is a program for automatically renewing one or more subscription licenses you have purchased directly from Appeon. Please refer to the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program for more details. This program does NOT apply to any subscription licenses purchased through Appeon resellers.
If you purchased a subscription license through an Appeon reseller, please contact the applicable reseller to see if they offer a similar auto-renewal program.
Any customer who has purchased one or more subscription licenses directly from Appeon can enroll in the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program.

Yes. The designated order owner, license administrator, and billing contact will receive email notifications.
If you are not enrolled in the Auto-Renewal Program, you will receive up to 3 email notifications. These notifications will be sent 90 days, 45 days and 20 days prior to the subscription expiration date. If you are enrolled in the Auto-Renewal program, you will receive one email reminder 45 days prior to the subscription expiration date in case you want to cancel the upcoming renewal.
If you did not receive such notification for some reason, you can always verify your subscription status in the User Center.
Yes. The designated order owner, license administrator and billing contact will receive an email notification 45 days prior to the subscription renewal date. If you wish to change your auto-renewal settings for some or all of your active subscriptions you will have 15 days to do so.
Yes. When a subscription has successfully renewed the designated order admin will receive an email notification. If you did not receive such notification for some reason, you can always verify your subscription status in the User Center. If you see any problems with your subscription status please immediately contact Appeon or the applicable Appeon reseller, depending who you purchased your subscription from.
If you have one or more subscriptions enrolled in the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program we will attempt to charge your credit card 30 days prior to the subscription expiration date. If you manually renew your subscription through the Appeon website it will be charged whenever you place such renewal order.

You can cancel any or all of the subscriptions you enrolled in the Appeon Auto-Renewal Program in the User Center by following this tutorial. All such cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the subscription expiration date to be effective.
