Dear Valued Appeon Customer:
This letter provides notification about the features that will become obsolete at the release of PowerBuilder 2019 R3. Obsolete features are features that are available but are no longer eligible for technical support and will no longer be enhanced.
Notes on Obsolete Features:
- Windows 7. Microsoft has discontinued Windows 7 support from January 14, 2020. Customers who use Windows 7 as the operation system of PowerBuilder IDE or Runtime can choose to upgrade to a supported Windows OS such as Windows 10.
- The Inet object will no longer be eligible for technical support. Customers can either continue using the feature without support, or migrate to WebBrowser control (for the Inet GetURL or HyperLinkToURL function) or HTTPClient object (for the Inet PostURL function).
- Opening Internet Explorer browser pages in an OLEControl will no longer be eligible for technical support. Customers can either continue using the feature without support, or migrate to the WebBrowser control.
- The built-in Rich Edit Control will no longer be eligible for technical support. The recommended RichTextEdit editors are the built-in TX Text Control ActiveX 15.0 (32-bit only) and TX Text Control 28.0 (32-bit and 64-bit).
