Is ASE 16.x supported in the latest version of PowerBuilder?

Environment

  • SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise 16.0 and later
  • PowerBuilder

Cause

When running the latest version of PowerBuilder, there are only native database drivers for versions of ASE 15.x and earlier.

Resolution

For ASE 16.x support use the ASE 15.x native driver. The following should be considered:

  1. ASE 16 has been tested using the 15.x native driver
  2. No new ASE 16.x specific features are supported
  3. Earlier versions of PowerBuilder are not supported with ASE 16.x
