Google is currently blocking the NPAPI plug-ins in its newly released Chrome 42 by default in accordance to the phasing out so-called NPAPI plug-ins in Chrome.
However Chrome users can still override the blocking of plug-ins in Chrome for the time being before September, 2015.
- Type chrome://flags in the browser's address bar and hit Enter, and then scroll down to Enable NPAPI, or directly search for chrome://flags/#enable-npapi in the browser’s address bar.
- Enable it with a click on the link Enable.
- Restart the browser.
All NPAPI plug-ins installed in Chrome become available again.
Please note that this method cannot be used after September, 2015 when the NPAPI plug-ins are disabled permanently in Chrome.
Alternatively if you don’t want to manually enable the NPAPI plug-ins and yet you still require these plug-ins that Chrome does not support, you can,
- Either switch to another Web browser that supports these plug-ins.
- Or don't update Chrome and stay on a version that supports these plug-ins.
