This installment brings Japanese customers the revamped internet deployment, and refined features that boost productivity to build powerful and feature-rich apps in a more secure way. PowerBuilder 2022 R3 is also a long-term support (LTS) version that replaces previous LTS versions. Appeon is recommending all customers to upgrade to PowerBuilder 2022 R3.

  • Find Code Faster – Introduces time-saving functionalities such as Tabbed Code Editor, Jump to Objects, and Quick Code Search to improve the coding efficiency.

Security Enhancements

  • Stronger Web Security – Supports the latest HTTP/2 and TLS 1.3 protocols and two-way TLS authentication, all of which are supported for all HTTP requests, including requesting security tokens and invoking REST Web APIs.
  • TDS 8.0 – All your SQL Server communications can be encrypted with TDS 8.0, which offers better data security, compatibility with TLS 1.3, and network management.
  • Updated DB Drivers – ADO.NET database drivers are upgraded to .NET 6 for secure connection to Oracle, SQL Server, and ODBC data sources.

New App Features

  • Tabbed Windows – A new option that allows you to open MDI sheets in a tabbed view, giving your app a modern and user-friendly interface with a single click.
  • Fillable PDFs – A set of new features that enable you to create fillable PDFs using the RichTextEdit Control, and to manipulate PDFs by creating, merging, inserting files, and adding watermarks or images.
  • Auto Complete & Validation – Autocomplete property enables the automatic data completion, filtering and validation in DropDownDataWindow and DropDownListBox via typing, improving productivity and user experience.

PowerBuilder 2022 R3 Japanese version is now generally available for evaluation, upgrade, or new purchase. Free trial versions of the product are fully functional for a period of 30 days, and a free self-guided training course is available for developers new to PowerBuilder. Customers who have already purchased PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese version can download the paid version from the Appeon Website.
