This release introduces a range of new features aimed at helping developers build powerful, feature-rich, and secure client/server and installable cloud apps more efficiently.

Feature Highlights for Both Client/Server and Cloud Apps

  • Tabbed Windows: A new option that allows you to open MDI sheets in a tabbed view, giving your app a modern and user-friendly interface with a single click.
  • Fillable PDFs: A set of new features that enable you to create fillable PDFs using the RichTextEdit Control, and to manipulate PDFs by creating, merging, inserting files, and adding watermarks or images.
  • Auto Filtering: Autocomplete property enables the automatic data completion and filtering of DropDownDataWindow and DropDownListBox via typing, improving productivity and user experience.
  • SMTP Client: A new object that lets you send text or HTML-based emails directly from your app using the native email client, without relying on external software.
  • Updated DB Drivers: ADO.NET database drivers are upgraded to .NET 6 for high-performing and secure connection to Oracle, SQL Server, and ODBC data sources.

All new features are available in the CloudPro subscription level of PowerBuilder 2022 R2, which is now generally available for evaluation, upgrade, or purchase. Trial versions of the product are fully functional for a period of 30 days. Existing customers are entitled to receive this version as a free upgrade. New customers may purchase from Appeon or a local authorized reseller.
